Compact table-top and hand-held fluoro cytometry instruments based on microfluidics technology initially developed at Caltech for NASA
Disposable single-use, test-specific cartridges for use with the portable instruments
These will provide doctors with actionable information for tests previously only available from sophisticated laboratory equipment at the point of care .
History
The LeukoDx story begins with NASA, which wanted a hand-held device for its Mars mission with which astronauts would be able to rapidly diagnose infection and other conditions. They funded two consecutive contracts led by a Caltech scientist and one of our founders to develop this technology.
Cardio Ventures, a medical device and diagnostics business accelerator, in-licensed the technology and founded LeukoDx to develop and commercialize the technology.
